I think the bizarre scholarships available are absolutely fantastic- my youngest 3 sons are all arty, my middle two especially. I have one currently at university studying Animation and one that wants to pursue a similar course. It’s great to know that scholarships are available that differ from the norm .
That’s wonderful, Linda! The best of luck to your boys and feel free to email me with any scholarship questions that you may have. 🙂
These are fantastic! I want to see the photos from the duct tape prom contest!
You would not believe how creative the students get with duct tape. They are SO talented!
I’m forwarding the information to my daughter for her toddlers – we can start planning early! Something I did not do when I went to college, and paid a big price! Thank you for such great ideas!
Toddlerhood IS pretty early, but volunteering as a family is one fun way to get kids scholarship ready no matter how old they are. Thanks for sharing my info with your daughter. 🙂
I’ve never been a hands-on kind of guy. Give me something to fix and I’ll break it even more! Haha. These scholarships look awesome, but I’d be completely avoiding those that involve heavy duty handywork!
Thanks for visiting and reading, Raymond!
I LOVE this! Thank you! I want my son to do the make me laugh one but isn’t 13 yet. I’ll have to check back next year. thank you for the post!
Thanks! Carefully check all the guidelines for scholarships, because some are open to students of all ages, even kids younger than 13. Searching early is key, great job! 🙂
Cool! I always thought you have to be enetering college or university to apply for scholarships. But glad that there are ones out there for the teens for their creativity. Great info!
That’s a common myth about scholarships. Feel free to share!
This is an absolutely fantastic piece! Who would have imagined these kinds of scholarship opportunities? I love it because every kind of student/kid has a chance to shine and get scholarship money even if they don’t fit the mold of the traditional “scholar.”
Exactly, Lee! Every student is talented and can win scholarship money. They just need to find the ones that fit who THEY are. 🙂
I’m going back to school just so I can apply for the Duct Tape Scholarship. 🙂
You should see the creative ways some students use Duct tape to try and win that scholarship. They are so talented!
These are great! I want to see the winners of all of them and I’d like to read the funny essay. What a rich variety of scholarships there are for the taking!
Reading winning essays is actually one of my tips! Many organizations offering scholarship money publish the essays of their chosen winners. It’s a great way for scholarship searching students to get a feel for the type of student and content the judges appreciate. 🙂
Oh my god – I love these! Make a duct tape prom outfit! I might do this even though I’m not applying for scholarship or going to prom!
Now that’s funny! I’ll bet you would be a fantastic mentor to a student trying to win this scholarship!
Where in the heck was all this 20 years ago! Why didn’t I know you 20 years ago?
20 years ago my baby was 5 and I had no idea I would be doing what I do now, LOL! Thanks for reading, Gary!
