“Can high school freshmen apply for college scholarships?”
The answer is YES!

This will get them used to and comfortable with the scholarship process.
In the meantime, they should be working on getting good grades, taking challenging courses, and doing lots of community service.
When the majority of scholarships become available to them in their senior year of high school, they will be in an excellent position to apply for as many as possible and the more scholarships applied for, the better their chances are of winning!
Just simply filling out an application is not enough, however.
