College Scholarship Tip: Don’t Text Type!
This college scholarship tip is hard for many students, but what they don’t realize is that scholarship judges and committee members do not understand their lingo.
Students, R U text typin’ in your college scholarship applications?
Well, R U?
IDK about u, but trying to figure out what someone is trying to say when you are not up on the latest texting lingo is VERY frustrating.
Texting is fun, quick, and popular among young people these days, but students applying for scholarships need to keep in mind their audience, the judges.
When you fill out your college scholarship applications, write your essays, and prepare your scholarship resume, leave the text type in your phone!
i mean it, lol!!! (See what I mean?)
UGH!
Scholarship judges CRINGE when they read text type, and it is a very real problem.
The lack of punctuation, non-proper use of capitalization, and mysterious abbreviations for phrases are red flags and will more than likely get your applications thrown right into the “reject” pile.
(Be sure to read: College Scholarship Red Flags to Avoid at All Costs)
Sure, texting is fun, but it has no place in your scholarship or college applications.
So as tempting as it may be to fire off that college scholarship essay and application with text type, be strong and resist.
