College Scholarship Tip:  Small Steps Produce BIG Results

This college scholarship tip helps with feeling overwhelmed when you are trying to win money for school. Learn how to break down college scholarship applying into smaller, workable parts.

Take scholarship work one step at a time with this scholarship tip.

Applying for scholarships can be so overwhelming, especially if you or your student has no idea where to start or what to do.

The very best advice I can give to cut down on scholarship anxiety is to take each part of the scholarship application and break it down into smaller, more workable, and less daunting parts.

  • Decide on a certain amount of time to be spent on scholarship work each day
  • Search for scholarships, adding to your list daily
  • Focus on one scholarship at a time
  • Fill out the application
  • Brainstorm ideas for the essay
  • Write the essay
  • Gather all required documents
  • Proofread all parts of the application
  • Mail-in or upload all materials specified in the guidelines
  • Cross that scholarship off of your list and move on to the next one

Do the math:  Even 15 minutes a day of scholarship work adds up to 105 minutes a week, which is 420 minutes a month!

Parents working with students can easily double this time and twice as many scholarship applications can be found and submitted.
