How to Win Club Scholarships
Do you know how to win club scholarships?
Hey there scholarship searchers! I overheard a student the other day talking about how they wished their dad was a member of a certain local club. The reason was, they found out that this club offered generous college scholarships. Not only that, the club offered the scholarships at EACH branch, as well as national scholarships for a TON of scholarship money.
Well, did you know that in many cases, you or your parents do NOT have to be a member of some clubs to apply for their scholarships?
Watch this quick video to learn more about how to find and win club scholarships:
Even if you are required to be a member, lots of organizations that offer scholarships let you join and THEN APPLY (like the same day). How great is THAT? Also, some organizations award you with a FREE membership if you are the scholarship winner. Here are some examples of club scholarships and their membership requirements:
Elks National Foundation
~ Most Valuable Student Scholarship ~ Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
~Legacy Scholarship ~ Applicants must be children or grandchildren of members in good standing.
The American Legion
~American Legion Scholarships ~ Offers a HUGE amount of scholarship money for several different types of students. Some require membership (parents or grandparents) and some do not. Go to the site and check out each scholarship to see if you qualify to apply. Also, your own STATE and/or local American Legion may offer their own scholarships. Search for “American Legion <your state>” and click on the link for “scholarships”. You will find lots of scholarships for students who live in that particular state that are sponsored by the American Legion.

If you live in Ohio, you do NOT need to be a member of this foundation to apply for the scholarship. Go to www.ohioengineer.com to find out more.
Lions Club Scholarships
~There are several local scholarships that are awarded to high school students in each area there is a Lions Club. Membership is not necessary, unless that student is applying for a scholarship with a branch with student members. Most high school guidance counselors will have the necessary information on how to apply for Lions Club Scholarships. You can also search for “Lions Club Scholarship <your state>”
EAA Scholarships (Experimental Aircraft Association)
~EAA Young Eagles Scholarships – You must be a member of the EAA to apply for their MANY scholarships. You can join and THEN apply!
