Hungry to Lead College Scholarship

The Hungry to Lead College Scholarship is an award with multiple winners!

College is increasingly so expensive that parents and their students are desperate to find ways to help pay for it. I helped my son win over $100,000 in college scholarships and want to help you too. How did I do it? Read my story here.

The Hungry to Lead College Scholarship is brought to you by Professional Reps and is an award for students interested in the food service and hospitality industry.  There are three scholarships available totaling over $5000.

  1.   The Amana Leadership Scholarship, $2500
  2.   The Hungry to Lead Scholarship, $1500
  3.   The Leadership Recognition Award, $500 (2 awarded)

Here are the guidelines and details:

  • Open to U.S. high school seniors and college students
  • Students must be pursuing (or planning to pursue) a degree in food service/hospitality or a similar program
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Minimum ACT 18/SAT 1300
  • Merit-based
  • Students must show extracurricular activities and leadership
  • Deadline to apply is July 1
  • Two submission options:  Online or U.S. Postal Service

Winning Tips:  My very best tip for this scholarship is to choose the submission option that allows students to mail in their application and supplemental materials. Take advantage of the unique method of applying that I have detailed in my scholarship guide here and create a scholarship application packet that will be different from all the rest of the applicants.

This is a fairly new college scholarship award (it was initiated in 2014), so there will be less competition than bigger, more nationally known scholarships. Focus on leadership and the food service/hospitality industry in your essay and make sure to include all three parts of the essay prompt. Ask a professional in the food service/hospitality industry that knows your leadership skills, work ethic and experience to write your letter of recommendation.
