National Garden Clubs College Scholarships
The National Garden Clubs College Scholarships are open to several levels of students.

For students who are pursuing a career related to gardening, environmental issues, floral design, horticulture, or landscape design there are the National Garden Club College Scholarships.
Must be majoring in one of the following fields of study:
Agronomy
Agriculture Education
Floriculture
Horticulture
Landscape Design
Botany, Biology
Forestry
Wildlife Science
Plant Pathology/Science
City (Rural & Urban) Planning
Habitat or Forest/Systems Ecology
Environmental Concerns (Management: Environmental, Horticulture Resource/Environmental Behavior)
Environmental Conservation (including Engineering)
Land Management and/or other related or allied subjects
Here are the scholarship details:
- Open to college juniors, seniors, and those in grad school
- One-year scholarship award
- Approximately 45, $4500 awards are available
- Open to U.S. Citizens or permanent legal residents of the United States
- Minimum 3.25 G.P.A.
- Student applications are due by February 1
Winning Tips: The scholarship application packet for the National Garden Club College Scholarships must be mailed in a specific way to the Garden Club Chairman of the student’s residential state. This gives students a wonderful opportunity to use the unique application tips found in my college scholarship guide ebooks (here). There are VERY specific mailing guidelines for this scholarship, including:
“All of the documents must be submitted online, emailed, OR mailed by the applicant in one large envelope. Do not place the documents in page protectors, in any sort of permanent binder, or staple the pages.”
The percentages of how each part of the application is judged are clearly stated in the scholarship guidelines, so using this knowledge when compiling the application packet is an advantage.
