The mailed-in option scholarship application for the Ron Brown Scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for students to use the unique strategies that I used with my own son in which he was told, “I’ve never seen an application put together like yours!” (Info here)
Students will have the best chance of winning this scholarship if they fit all the eligibility criteria (high GPA, lots of community service/volunteering, show leadership potential, financial need, African American) and market themselves as fitting the organization’s mission that is found here.

This quote by the late Ron Brown sums up the heart of the RBSP and students need to keep it in mind while writing their essays, “Politics, life and business are not spectator sports. You have to get involved to get ahead. Most importantly, when you reach that level of success, keep the door open and the ladder down for others to follow”.
