What students need to know about scholarship application deadlines
Meeting Scholarship application deadlines may seem like the easiest part of a scholarship app, but students procrastinate, so use this simple tip to conquer this common problem!
Hi, scholarship money searchers! Let’s talk about scholarship application deadlines today.
Each scholarship application that you fill out has a very specific due date. This date is the very LAST DAY that your scholarship application is supposed to be at the company that is sponsoring the scholarship award.
Did you know that one day late and your whole scholarship application, no matter how beautifully put together, will probably end up in the trash?
Parents and students are crazy-busy these days though, right? I know, I’ve been there!
The key to mailing or submitting your scholarship applications on-time is changing the due date! Parents, tell your student that the scholarship application is “due” at least a week before it is actually supposed to be mailed or submitted (online). I told my son that his scholarship application deadlines were TWO weeks before the actual due dates.
Does this mean that I didn’t trust him to finish his essays or have the scholarship applications filled out on time? Well…Kind of!
