Scholarship Points – An Easy Way to Win Scholarship Money?

Is it really possible to win scholarship money with points? Are scholarships such as this legitimate?

10K college scholarship NO ESSAY

I’m referring to ScholarshipPoints.com, the website that entices students to click their way into earning points and saving them up for scholarship drawings. I have two definite thoughts about this program:

1.  Someone has to win and the scholarship winners are clearly and frequently posted on the site each month.

2.  Doing surveys and signing up for websites is very time-consuming and may lead to NO scholarship money at all.

Because of #1, students (or parents for their students) can spend a few minutes a day earning Scholarship Points, but because of #2, Scholarship Points should NEVER be the ONLY method of trying to win money for college.

I’ve read about students who save up thousands of points for a certain drawing, only to be bitterly disappointed when they didn’t win. Visit the Scholarship Points Facebook page and read posts from students (especially international students hoping to study in the U.S.) who are desperate for college scholarship money and see ScholarshipPoints as their means of getting it.

UPDATE: In the fall of 2016, my own college son won a $1000 scholarship from ScholarshipPoints! I was impressed with how quickly the money was sent and deposited into his tuition account at school. Are they legit? Absolutely! ~ Monica Matthews

The bottom line here is, spend a few (A FEW!) minutes a day checking out the latest offers from Scholarship Points and earning points to put into the scholarship drawings. There are LOTS of drawings to choose from, ranging from seasonal or holiday-based drawings (Oktoberfest Scholarship, Cheeseburger Heaven Scholarship, anyone?) to big awards ($10,000) given a few times a year.

Winning Tips:  In addition to the advice above, make it a habit every Tuesday to grab some easy scholarship points with codes shared via social media. 100 point codes are given on Twitter and Facebook.

By doing almost nothing, a student can grab 200 points a week to use for the scholarship drawings of their choice.

To avoid emails cluttering up their inbox, students need to set up a special email address as I share in this post just for programs like Scholarship Points, making sure this email is checked regularly, as this is how students are contacted if they win a scholarship. If the student does not respond to the email within 3 days, the scholarship is forfeited and another winner is chosen.
