Scholarships for gamers probably sounds like a dream come true for the majority of today’s teens and the good news is that they definitely do exist!

Here is a list of gaming scholarships, but do not apply for any award until you have learned the S.M.A.R.T. strategies found in How to Win College Scholarships.

Scholarships for Gamers – Esports Awards

Minecraft Scholarship

Open to all U.S. high school and college students with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Award Amount:  $2000

Deadline:  July 31

Gamers Helping Gamers Scholarship

Open to U.S. high school seniors, although a few scholarships for current college students are awarded each year.

Award Amount:  Varies (4 years awards, as well as one-time awards)

Deadline:  March 31

Video game-loving students may also be interested in joining robotics teams such as FIRST Robotics.

Entertainment Software Association (ESA) Foundation Gaming Scholarships

Open to U.S. women or minority students who are pursuing degrees that lead to careers in computer and video game arts. Students must be enrolled, or plan on enrolling, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 4-year college in the U.S.

Award Amount:  (30) $3000

Deadline:  March 2

Warner Bros. Reach Honorship Program Scholarships

Three different scholarships open to high school seniors who will be studying animation in college. Two of the awards have specific California residency requirements and one is open to all U.S. high school seniors.

You don’t need perfect grades or sports skills to win $ for school. Find scholarships based on what you love to do.

Award Amounts:  $10,000 (Plus paid summer internships at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California while in college.)

Trapology Gaming Scholarship

Open to high school seniors and undergraduates with a 3.0 average GPA. Applicants must be applying to or currently completing a study related to game design at a recognized university or post-secondary school.

Award Amount:  $1000

Deadline:  October 1
