Winning Tips: First of all, this is a new scholarship, so there will be less competition right from the start. Don’t skip this scholarship! Do some research before responding to the essay question, “Explain how you think social media would, from a future employment prospective, benefit your career. Explain in under 500 words how understanding social media would help you become more marketable to a potential employer. Clearly identify how it will benefit you.” This essay has three key parts, plus some extra details, so read the question over a few times before writing and make sure all aspects of the essay are covered. The extra details are providing an argument supporting the statements made in the essay and explaining why you believe you should be picked as the scholarship winner. That’s a lot of information to get into 500 words or less, so write clearly and have a trusted adult review the essay to make sure all components are included. Become familiar with the background of Marketing Certified by reviewing the “About Us” page and watching the video here. Use the comments section in the registration process wisely as an opportunity to share information that will not be included in the essay portion of the scholarship.
