When to start the college scholarship process is a VERY important question!
If you are wondering when to start the scholarship process, keep reading…

I get asked this question a lot!
The answer is NOW. Yes, NOW.
No matter what year you are in high school or college, don’t wait another minute to start the scholarship process.
Even middle school students can start now by carefully tracking their community service hours, beginning to volunteer in their communities (if they haven’t already), and applying for scholarships open to middle schoolers.
(They are out there! Find several in this post.)
It doesn’t do any good to think, “Well, I should have started last year or last month”.
That time is gone, and now you need to look forward and start this minute to search for scholarships and begin the application process for each one. Don’t put it off any longer, start NOW.

This is yet another post helpful to high schoolers.
I sincerely hope it is helping high schoolers and their parents, Carol. Thanks!
More great advice, Monica! My children are now college graduates, but I do remember the college application days. Community service was extremely important! You are spot on to say they should start recording their hours early.
Thanks, Ellen! It’s crazy how specific certain organizations offering scholarships are when it comes to the EXACT hours a student has volunteered. I hope I am saving students and their parents time and headaches by encouraging them to keep track early. 🙂
