Where to Find Scholarships for College Part 4
As this series of guest blog posts by Felecia Hatcher continues, we will go forward with the subject of where to find great scholarships for college. Felecia is the author of The “C” Students Guide to Scholarships.
As we’ve gone over in all the previous posts, no matter if your grades are wonderful or not so fantastic, you can still apply for college scholarships. If your grades are less than stellar, you can still win a lot of money for college, but it does mean you need to work harder to earn those scholarship dollars.
In the previous three guest blog posts, we told you that you should begin your scholarship search at your school, on the Internet, and then at your local library or bookstore. After this, you should tap into your personal “scholarship network.”
Don’t be shy about telling everyone you know that you are searching for scholarships.
Ask your friends, family, coworkers, employers, etc. to keep a lookout for scholarships on your behalf.
You never know what valuable scholarship information you can find out from those closest to you.
This is GREAT advice!
Here is another tip to help find scholarships for college
Someone you know might be a member of an organization that offers college scholarships.
Don’t ASSUME that you have to be a member also to qualify to apply for their scholarship! My son won an Elks Club Scholarship and we are NOT Elks Club members.
Spread the word that you are diligently searching for scholarships and let your friends, relatives, co-workers, and employers help YOU find them!
This dad used the winning strategies in How to Win College Scholarships to help both of his daughters win scholarship money:
“My daughter has won over $32,000 in scholarships so far! When she gets tired of applying, I remind her that she has made over $200 an hour so far and that gets her excited again. She is my second daughter to use the ideas in your scholarship guide with success.” Proud Dad
